South African Culture and Language Fundraiser Workshop, November 1
Did you know that South Africa has 11 official languages, several ethnic groups with distinct cultural practices, stunning national parks filled with wildlife, and some of the best wines in the world?
In this workshop, we’ll review some of the amazing cultural and linguistic features that South Africa holds from Cape Town to Johannesburg, Kruger National Park to the Wild Coast. We’ll share some of the country’s rich history along with personal experiences to share the beauty of this country and people. You can learn some basic Zulu phrases and can expect to sample some traditional Zulu dishes and beverages. You will also learn about our South African School Project and progress that has been made on the new classroom buildings.
Join us on Sunday, October 13th from 5-7pm!
This workshop is a fundraiser for the South African School Project and all money raised will go directly to help support Mgidla High School, a low-income school in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Suggested contribution for the workshop is $30-100 per person. More would be very welcome by the South African teachers and students you are helping to support! RSVPs are required so we know how much food to prepare and can send you more information.
